AbstractThis Note presents a modification of the degree-day method of calculating annual heat requirements. This modified method termed "Net Annual Heat Loss Factor" allows the designers to take more accurate account of factors such as the solar radiation incident on a building surface. House heat loss components calculated by the two methods are compared.
