AbstractProblems involving sublimation of ice in porous media arise in a number of engineering contexts. This paper reviews the theoretical basis necessary for a mathematical description of the phenomena concerned and presents data on sublimation rates for pure ice. A numerical model for computing sublimation rates in non-isothermal conditions is described briefly.
