AbstractNRCJ38/PREP38 represents an analytical calculation model predicting structure-borne sound transmission at ajunction of semi-infinite plates. This software calculates the angle averaged transmission coefficient for a widevariety of plate junctions. In addition, the model calculates the coupling loss factor (CLF) and the modal density of the connected plates. Both the CLF and the modal density are two essential parameters required by Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA). The latter method represents a prediction tool to evaluate the energy distribution in complex vibrating structures, and is often applied to predict sound insulation in buildings.
