AbstractThese calculations differ from the usual finite difference heat conduction calculations in that they require the data to be differentiated rather than integrated. Methods are presented for differentiating data that have been recorded in either analogue or numerical form. The advantages of each method of recording, and the errors inherent in the calculation of surface conditions are discussed and illustrated by examples.
