AbstractThe purpose of these additional tests was twofold: to attempt to establish criteria by which unconventional roof frames, such as roof trusses might be evaluated; and to determine the difference in strength between conventional joist-rafter constructions built with 2 by 4 collar ties and those with 1 by 5 collar ties.
