SubjectSnow and Ice loads
AbstractComputed maximum snow loads have been derived from extreme snowfall, snow cover and rainfall data in the decade from 1941 to 1950. The derived loads are evaluated against those obtained from building codes now in use in major Canadian cities and found to be comparable in most cases. The value of these derived loads to smaller municipalities is mentioned.
