AbstractThis collection of questions and answers is intended to help readers understand issues regarding the wind design of mechanically attached flexible membrane roofs. The NRC Institute for Research in Construction, with the support of many partners in Canada and the United States, has studied this field for over ten years. In the course of this work the researchers developed a new wind evaluation protocol based on dynamic testing, which has become a Canadian standard. They also published a 107-page "Guide to the Wind Design of Mechanically Attached Flexible Membrane Roofs" (available at www.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/virtualstore/ )
