AbstractHaidinger's brushes are an entoptic phenomenon associated with polarized, short wavelength light. In the experiments described, the spectral absorption of the macula latea was estimated. From this estimate the magnitude of Haidinger's brushes was predicted for a variety of sources including cool white fluorescent lamps. The predicted magnitude of the Haidinger's brushes effect was compared with empirically measured magnitude for a CWF spectral distribution.
