AbstractIn this report it is preposed to summarize noise measurements recently made on the completed Toronto Subway and to discuss their significance in terms of disturbance both to passengers on the transit system and to occupants of nearby buildings. The two problems involve rather different considerations: passengers are exposed directly to air-borne noises, whereas occupants of adjacent buildings will be exposed mainly to noise transmitted through the structures and through the ground.
