AbstractAn Exterior Insulation Finishing Systems (EIFS) may allow rainwater through the walls, causing leaks, cracks and severely rotted studs in less than one year. This paper describes the development of a re-engineered EIFS system which circumvents these problems by implementing the rainscreen principle.
