AbstractAs part of a long-term study of the sound transmission of masonry walls, tests were done on six variations of a basic 12-inch lightweight block wall. The variations were to study the effects of several different surface sealing arrangements, including latex paint, plaster and plasterboard. The plasterboard was fastened to the wall with resilient furring strips, with and without a glass fibre blanket in the furring space.
