AbstractResults of a fire test on a reinforced concrete column are given. The test is one of a series of twelve tests carried out in the first phase of a joint study on the fire performance of concrete columns by the National Research Council of Canada and the Portland Cement Association. The column was made with siliceous aggregate. Its section size was 305 x 305 mm (12 x 12 in.). It was tested to investigate the influence of load on the fire resistance of the column.
