AbstractRadioactive sources based on the 13C(α, n) reaction emit 6.13 MeV γ-rays, useful for the calibration of Ge(Li) detectors. As there detectors are highly sensitive to neutron damage, neutron spectra and 6.13 MeV gamma to neutron ratios have been measured on two sources: one containing 227Ac and the other 244Cm as α-emitter.
