AbstractThis paper reports on work done by the Inter-jurisdictional Regulatory Collaboration Committee (IRCC) to better understand regulations for the renovation or transformation of existing buildings, and the use of performance-based approaches in these regulations. It also reports results of a survey intended to ascertain how IRCC countries deal with the renovation of existing buildings.
