AbstractOn 15 March 1960 a fire occurred in the upper story of a duplex dwelling house in Ottawa. It was characterized by a very rapid development which was probably associated with a small quantity of gasoline and with combustible wall linings. Fire Department apparatus arrived within a few minutes of the outbreak and extinguished it before the whole of the building became involved. Nevertheless the combustible siding of the adjacent house ignited and it is with this facet of the incident that this report is concerned.
