AbstractThe authors describe a method for computer calculation of the factors influencing the thermal response of a system formed by the room components in a dwelling. This method takes into account the heat stored by the walls, floor and ceiling of the room and by the air in it, with separate consideration of internal radiation and convection heat transfer. The calculation of this thermal response is based on the heat balance equations for each of the surfaces enclosing the room and for the air in it. The heat transferred to the surfaces enclosing the room enters into the calculation of the thermal response of the system formed by each element. A series of equations expressing the temperatures of the room walls, of the air and of the excitation components provided in the system is written in matrix form. It can be solved by inverting the matrix. The thermal response factors of the system are calculated using the elements of the inverted matrix. The authors examine the error resulting from the method for calculating these factors and provide an example of a matrix equation for a simple room.
