AbstractTo study the effect on clay bricks of freezing and thawing them, a number of small samples were tested under several different freezing conditions. Most of the samples had been used originally in other work, such as a study of the directional effect on moisture expansion of bricks, and when the original work was completed, additional tests were made to investigate the influence of various factors on the damage done to the bricks by freezing them.
