AbstractA number of fire ventilation scenarios were investigated to identify the proper ventilation scheme for conducting design fire tests in a 4.2 m long, 3.8 m wide, and 2.4 m high compartment. The fuel package used for all scenarios consisted of a polyurethane foam sofa and two wood cribs underneath it to provide additional fuel load to sustain a fully developed fire. The ventilation was provided by means of different sizes of a window, a door, or both.
