AbstractThis paper is part of an ongoing investigation of a sky-scattered solar radiation based optical diagnostic for plume transmissivity measurement. The work presented here is the key component of a project focused on developing an optical method to quantify soot emission rates from flares with known sensitivity and uncertainty.
