AbstractFrost action processes can be related to the occurrence of patterned ground, solifluction, and applied natural phenomena to give some explanation of their geographical distribution. Knowledge of the conditions under which frost action causes these phenomena facilitates the use of fossil structures of similar origin in interpreting past environmental conditions.
